I hope you all have enjoyed this weeks installment of #slayinspirecreate! To end our week on the art from the Baroque era, here are some fun activities for you and your family to do together!

2. Still life drawing activity! Still life is the art of drawing or painting inanimate objects or objects that don’t move such as fruit, household items and flowers. Drawing still lifes is great practice! It helps with observation and the study of the elements of art which include color, form, line, texture, space and value. Rachel Ruysch, one of our artists that was introduced this week was known for her beautiful still lifes of flowers. Why not try it out for yourself!
3. Artist, Caravaggio and I did our versions of the Greek mythology Gorgon that is Medusa! Medusa is described as fierce winged woman with venomous snakes in place of her hair. Those who gazed in to her hypnotizing eyes would turn to stone! There are some great activities and crafts available inspired by this infamous creature. A simple and fun activity you can do at home is a cool Medusa mask! If you need a template for a mask, there are several free mask templates available for download or you can draw your own! Here’s what I came up with!
